The company was based in Briarcliff Manor, NY and according to DNV, it was the 16th largest competitive, non-residential electricity retailer in the U.S. in 2019. In October, Agera filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and entered into an agreement to be purchased by Constellation. Under the agreement, Constellation plans to acquire approximately 50,000 of Agera’s retail accounts.
