Texas availability deserves a fresh check

Clearview Energy is a multi-state retail energy supplier with green-energy, rewards, and EV-focused messaging. For Texas shoppers, the important caution is availability. The official areas page reviewed for this refresh provides Texas customer-service contact information, but the displayed state list does not clearly include Texas.

That does not by itself prove Clearview is unavailable in Texas, especially because other regulatory material supports a Texas REP license. It does mean you should verify current Texas enrollment before treating Clearview like a normal active plan option in your ZIP code.

Rewards are not the same as bill savings

Clearview's rewards page says customers receive Reward Dollars every month, with ways to use them for dining, shopping, games, giveaways, and other offers. That may be useful if you value the rewards catalog.

Do not count reward dollars as direct bill savings unless the terms say they reduce your electric bill. Rewards can make a plan feel better, but the EFL still decides whether the electricity price is competitive.

The EV charging offer has detailed conditions

Clearview's EV charging page describes free nightly charging reimbursement from 11 PM to 6 AM for eligible residential EV chargers. The details matter: compatible devices, internet connection, data sharing, quarterly reimbursement, kWh caps, active-service requirements, and separate check payments all affect the value.

This kind of plan can work for an EV owner who charges at home overnight and is comfortable sharing charging data. It is less valuable if your charger is not compatible, your charging schedule is irregular, or the reimbursement cap does not match your usage.

Green positioning needs the plan document

Clearview markets itself around cleaner energy and sustainability. If that is part of why you are considering the provider, check the renewable content, REC language, and any green-plan premium in the plan documents.

A green-energy claim should be specific enough to compare. Look for what is matched, how it is matched, whether it applies for the full contract term, and whether the plan price still works for your household.

When Clearview may fit

Clearview may fit a shopper who verifies current service availability, wants green-energy positioning, and can actually use the rewards or EV charging structure. It may also fit customers in other deregulated states where Clearview's current state pages clearly show active service.

For Texas, start by confirming availability and getting the EFL. If Clearview cannot provide current Texas plan documents for your address, compare active Texas providers instead of relying on an older provider listing.
