Entrust is a legacy provider page now

Entrust Energy should not be treated like a normal active enrollment option. Public 2021 market-event reporting shows that Entrust customers were acquired by Rhythm after Entrust could no longer guarantee continuous service during the Texas market disruption.

That status changes the purpose of this page. The useful task is not comparing an Entrust plan against current offers. It is understanding the historical provider, checking old account documents, and moving current shopping to active Texas REPs.

What happened to customer accounts

Rhythm's acquisition announcement said it acquired customers from Entrust Energy and Power of Texas in March 2021. Customers affected by that transition should rely on their actual account notices, final bills, and successor-provider records rather than old comparison pages.

If you still have an Entrust-related bill issue, the legal provider name, service address, account number, and contract documents matter more than the brand website. Keep those records together before contacting a successor provider or regulator.

Old Entrust rates are not useful shopping data

Archived Entrust rates, old EFLs, and historical reviews may explain what the provider once sold, but they should not guide a new plan decision. Texas electricity prices, TDSP delivery charges, and product structures have changed since Entrust stopped operating as a normal shopping option.

A new shopper should compare currently open plans by ZIP code. That comparison should include the current EFL, contract length, early termination fee, base charge, usage credit structure, and renewal terms.

Where this page can still help

This page can still help if you are trying to identify a past provider, understand why a brand disappeared, or organize records for a billing question. The historical legal name and certificate number can be useful when reading old documents.

It can also prevent a bad shopping decision. If another site lists Entrust as a current option, confirm that the offer is actually available before entering personal information or assuming the provider can start service.

What to compare instead

For new service, compare active fixed-rate, variable, prepaid, and renewable-backed plans from providers currently serving your ZIP code. Use your expected usage rather than a single default rate example.

If you were previously an Entrust customer and liked a simple fixed contract, look for a plan with plain EFL math, clear renewal notices, and no narrow usage trap. The replacement choice should be based on current documents, not nostalgia for a former brand.

Before relying on Entrust information

Check the date of any Entrust source. Material from before the 2021 customer transition is historical, not a current enrollment signal. If you need official help, use your account records and current regulator or successor-provider channels.

The stored Entrust website did not provide a reliable current enrollment destination during this refresh, so the public website field was cleared. That prevents the page from sending shoppers toward a stale or broken provider path.
