Rio Power & Light is presented publicly as an authorized business name of Texpo Power L.P. That relationship matters because the legal provider on the contract may be Texpo while the customer-facing brand is Rio.

When comparing a Rio offer, make sure the EFL, Terms of Service, and customer-rights document connect the Rio brand to the Texpo legal entity and PUCT certificate.

The working Rio site is not the old stored domain

The old rioelectricity.com URL timed out during this refresh. The working Rio public site is riopl.com, so the website, phone, and email fields were updated.

This is more than a housekeeping change. A stale domain can send users to a dead path when they need plan documents or customer support.

Rio's green positioning needs the EFL

Rio emphasizes green energy and renewable plans. That can be useful for customers who want renewable content, but the EFL should still show the renewable percentage and average price.

Compare any renewable plan against a plain fixed-rate option at the same usage level. Renewable positioning does not replace price, term, and fee review.

Customer support and payment access matter

Rio publishes customer-care and bill-payment paths. Those details matter because a provider's support process affects renewals, move-outs, billing questions, and outage routing.

Outage questions still go to the TDSP, not the retail provider. The provider handles the retail account, bill, and contract.

Who may fit Rio

Rio may fit customers who want a Texas provider brand with renewable positioning and straightforward customer-service channels. It may also fit shoppers who already recognize other Texpo-related brands.

It may not fit customers who want a large national brand, bundled home products, or a provider app ecosystem.

Save the EFL, Terms of Service, Your Rights as a Customer disclosure, and any renewable-content terms. Confirm that the plan is available in your TDSP area.

If a document says Texpo while the page says Rio, that is expected for this brand relationship. The names should still line up consistently across the plan paperwork.
