Tara Energy is one of the older retail electricity brands in deregulated Texas. Its site says the company has served residential and commercial customers since 2002, which puts it in a different category from short-lived REP brands that appeared only during a single market cycle.

Tara is also tied to the broader Just Energy family, so customers may see references to Just Energy resources, programs, or account support while still shopping under the Tara Energy name.
