Since early 2002, when Energy Deregulation was voted in Texas, residents of Canadian have had the power to choose their own electric suppliers and shop around to get cheap electricity.

Read on to learn how you can get the cheapest electric rates in Canadian…
Moving to Canadian or Just Switching to a Cheaper Electricity Rate?
You can establish a new plan when moving, or even switch electricity providers if you’re staying at the same address. Our goal is to make sure that you, as a consumer, are getting the cheapest and best possible bang for your buck!
With dozens of electric companies competing for your business and offering electricity services in Canadian, it is extremely difficult to find that one plan that offers you the most savings.
Many of the provider websites you visit are difficult to navigate. They show advertised rates in a large bold text but hide the additional fees that come along with it.
Would you rather compare plans using a manual Excel spreadsheet with hundreds of rows, or would you rather let SlashPlan find the best and cheapest plan for you?
Using our service will not cost you a dime! Yes, it is completely FREE of charge.
You may ask, how do we make sure we’re finding the best price?
We monitor a large number of electricity plans, by different energy suppliers in Canadian which updates daily, and we present them to you in one easy-to-understand list, with the cheapest rates showing first.
Why Compare Electricity Rates?
Most people, especially ones who move to Texas from out of state or from regulated energy markets are not aware that they have the power to choose their electric provider.
Like any other service provider, electricity companies always try to charge you as much as they can, and they use different tactics to make it happen, all while telling you that you’re getting a “deal”.
Without using an energy comparison service like SlashPlan you may not be aware of all discounts you can take advantage of, or the hidden fees that will mysteriously show up on your bill.
Let me present you with a common scenario that we see all the time:
2 energy companies (Company A & Company B) both charge 10¢ per Kilowatt Hour (kWh). You might think that since both companies offer the same price, your bill would be the same. But it wouldn’t!
A standard practice in the energy industry is to offer Tiered Pricing.
So you will only pay the advertised rate if your monthly usage falls under that specific tier.
Going back to our scenario, it would look something like this:
Company A offers the advertised rate when your monthly usage is ABOVE 2000 kWh.
Company B offers this price when your monthly usage is UNDER 1000 kWh.
So if we go back now and ask the same question. Which company offers a better rate?
The truth is, you can’t determine that without looking at a few other parameters…
It depends on your monthly usage, and multiple other factors, such as monthly base charges, usage credits, discounts, time of usage, etc…
Estimating your final bill is impossible without taking all of these charges and credits into consideration.
That’s where SlashPlan comes in to help!
We display all-inclusive pricing from different providers in a standard, easy-to-read platform.
The best way to shop for electricity is to see all your options in one place, where all the fees and discounts are already included in the final price.
Using our free service, you can now easily find this information in a matter of seconds!
With our comparison service, you can finally sort and filter plans to match your specific criteria. The best options will show on top of the list by default.
To make sure you are not misled by the energy providers, we display all-inclusive prices on our platform. We include all the credits and discounts you will be getting based on your exact usage. Oftentimes, the rates that are advertised online are associated with the highest usage levels, which are usually the lowest. Don’t let these rates fool you. Most households do not reach the usage levels that are needed in order to qualify for these low rates.
SlashPlan has your back! We level the playing field and make shopping for cheap energy rates accessible and easy for everybody!
We’ll provide you with all the necessary details, showing you the best deals from the most respected, reputable providers in your area offering the best rates, terms, and customer satisfaction.
Are you not moving and still want to switch? Did you know that that by switching to a new provider at the end of your contract you can save hundreds of dollars every year? Lock-in a low rate today!

Average Household Electricity Rates in Canadian, Texas
The price of energy in Texas is changing all the time. Between 2001-2020, Texans have been paying 11.1¢ kWh (Kilowatt/Hour) on average for their electricity.
Since Retail Electric Prices are constantly fluctuating, it’s difficult to tell if the plan you’re currently enrolled in is offering you a good deal.
The rates that you were last offered may no longer relevant by now, and all the time you spent comparing plans is gone down the drain.
Stop wasting time and overpaying for electricity
With SlashPlan you can compare and instantly get up-to-date unbiased energy rates, pre-sorted with the lowest prices showing first.
How To Find A Reliable Electricity Company in Canadian?
It’s important to understand that when you sign up for service, your are enrolling with a Retail Electric Provider. Your provider is not in charge of servicing and maintaining your energy infrastructure, and they are not the ones that will fix blackouts or outages. Maintenance is done by a seprate utility company, also called a “TDSP”.
That’s confusing, right?
In order for energy prices to stay low and competitive, law-makers in Texas decided to eliminate monopolies by not allowing the TDSP’s to sell energy directly to the end-users.
The utility companies are, however, in charge of delivering the electricity to your home, and maintaning the power lines and the energy infrastructure.
For any issues with blackouts, power outages, or the electric meter, you will need to contact the utility company directly.
Why should I care about this anyway?
The reason this introduction was important is because now you understand that the Energy Company you sign up with will not change the “reliability” of your electricity service. You get the same electricity, from the same source, regardless of which provider you sign up with.
So what’s the difference between all the other energy companies?
They all have different structured plans and prices.
Some providers only offer green plans, others include no-deposit plans, etc…
If prices are the same, then the main differences that you should pay attention to are the provider’s customer service, early termination policy, and ease of communication.
When you sign up for a new plan using SlashPlan, you can be confident that you’re getting a great bargain, and will sign up with a well-known energy company that has a proven track record of competitive prices and superb customer support.

Not Sure Which Energy Plan Will Work For You?
Other than price, these are key points to consider when enrolling in a new plan:
Your monthly usage – Having your 12-month usage history will allow you to find the best plan for your usage habits.
Rate Type – Some people prefer a long-term peace of mind that comes with a Fixed Rate plan. Others prefer a more dynamic, sometimes lower rate that changes monthly according to the Electricity Price Index.
Term Length – Would you rather have peace of mind for the long term (12+ months), or would like to stick to a short-term 3-6 month plan?
Green Energy – Helping the environment by having your Power Provider purchase Renewable Energy Credits on your behalf to offset the impact of energy generation on the environment.

What Information Do I Need To Provide When Signing-Up?
It’s important to remember that SlashPlan is not your electricity provider. We created a marketplace that allows you to easily compare and sign-up (or switch) your electricity service.
When you sign up for a new plan, your new provider requires us to send them some information about you to initiate the enrollment.
We do not store sensitive information on our servers and make sure to protect your private data. We will never sell or share it with anyone!
Although most people prefer a streamlined online enrollment, if you feel uncomfortable submitting your information online you can also enroll over the phone.
This typically is the information an electric company will require you to provide:
- Full Name
- Service Address
- Billing Address
- Social Security Number or Driver’s License Number (to determine if a deposit is required)
- Requested service start date
- Meter Number – Each service address in Texas has a unique meter number, also known as an ESID. When you enroll online we will find your ESID number based on your address. If you enroll over the phone, you can also find this number in your previous electric bill.
