Energy Texas Electricity Plans
Both residential and commercial customers in Texas have access to Energy Texas’ selection of electricity plans. They provide various plans:
Inflation Fix: One of their most popular plans which offers a low rate for a 36-month plan. Help protect yourself against inflation by locking up a long-term rate and bundling it up with their “Giddy Up” guarantee (see below) to re-rate your plan as you use it.
Fixed Long-Term Plans:
- Come and Take It – 12 month
- The Gruene – 18 month
- Bigger Than Texas – 24 month
These long-term plans all offer a low fixed price rate for your energy usage. All plans are sourced from 100% renewable energy and can be combined with Energy Texas’ unique Giddy Up offer that can re-rate your price based on your usage and the current market energy price.
Fixed Short-Term Plans:
- Taste of Energy Texas – 3 month
- Energy Texas Monthly – 1 month
These are perfect for people that need a short-term plan or just want to test out the company before committing to a long-term plan. Please note that after your contract is over your energy price will be subject to the market rate, so already make sure to lock in a better rate before your plan is over.
What is the Giddy Up Guarantee?
Energy Texas is dedicated to making sure you have a power plan that fits your energy needs, and the Giddy Up Guarantee was developed as a result. It ensures that you will receive a discount based on your actual usage. This is how it goes:
Energy Texas will start keeping an eye on your usage habits as soon as your plan starts. Based on the analysis of your usage history, when possible they will send you an offer for a discount and you’ll have the chance to accept it in your Energy Texas “My Account” dashboard.
What is Freedom Flex? is it good?
Freedom Flex can be an excellent addition to your energy contract.
For $4.95/mo you can add the Freedom Flex option to your Energy Texas electricity plan. It allows you to switch your electricity plan every 30 days (if you wish to) without any early termination fees and without waiting for the previous contract to expire.
The Freedom Flex gives you the flexibility to manage your service in accordance with your current needs and the ever-changing energy prices.
Is Energy Texas a good company?
Although Texas Energy is a new retail energy provider in the industry, they have a team of veteran energy professionals with many years of experience.
Their management team previously founded Bounce Energy, which was acquired and is now operating as a brand under Direct Energy, a subsidiary of the larger NRG Energy company.
With less-than-average complaints on the PUCT Customer Complaint Statistics and some of the lowest rates available in the entire state, Energy Texas a great company to sign up with and use as your energy supplier.
Energy Texas Contract Length
Offers include multiple contract terms, ranging from 1-month to 36-month plans.
Having a variety of contract length options, including both short-term and long-term plans, can be beneficial for customers in several ways.
One advantage of having a variety of contract length options is that it allows customers to choose the plan that best fits their needs and budget. For example, some customers may prefer a short-term plan with a lower commitment if they only need energy for a temporary period of time, or if they expect their energy needs to change in the near future. On the other hand, other customers may prefer a long-term plan with a longer commitment if they want the stability of a fixed rate or if they have higher energy needs that are not expected to change significantly over time.
Having a range of contract length options can also provide customers with flexibility. For example, if a customer signs up for a short-term plan and their energy needs change, they may have the option to switch to a different plan with a different term length.
Similarly, if a customer signs up for a long-term plan and their energy needs change significantly, they may be able to negotiate a new plan with their provider but run the risk of incurring additional fees.
Overall, having a variety of contract length options can help customers find a plan that best fits their needs and preferences, and can provide them with the flexibility to make changes if their energy needs change over time.

Energy Texas Cancellation Fees
The early termination fees for energy plans in Texas can vary depending on the specific plan and provider. In general, early termination fees are charges that a customer may have to pay if they cancel their energy service before the end of their contract period.
These fees are intended to cover the fees that the provider may have incurred, such as the cost of purchasing power from other sources to meet the customer’s energy needs.
The specific amount of the fee may vary depending on the length of time remaining on the contract and other factors. Check the EFL (Electricity Fact Label) document of your plan to find the exact early termination fee.
If you move to a new address in Texas, you are able to transfer your energy service to your new location without incurring early termination fees. If you choose to switch companies when you move you will not be charged any fees.
