What services does Summer Energy offer?
Summer Energy offers energy plans for residential and commercial customers, including fixed-rate and variable-rate options, and plans with 100% renewable energy. They cater to both small and large businesses.
How long does it take to start service?
During the enrollment process, you can choose between three options: a standard switch, a self-selected switch, or new service. The standard switch allows you to switch providers within 7 days or less if you already have electric service at the location and are not under contract. The self-selected switch lets you pick a specific start date for service, and the new service option connects service to a new location. Note that additional fees may apply for both self-selected switch and new service options, as determined by your local utility company.
Does Summer Energy have cancellation fees?
Cancellation fees vary by plan and service length. Check EFL for early termination fees. Fees are waived if you are moving to a new address.
Does Summer Energy offer green energy plans?
Summer Energy offers plans featuring 100% renewable energy, allowing customers in Texas to support environmentally-friendly options.
Does Summer Energy require a deposit?
During the enrollment process, a credit check may be performed to determine if a deposit is required.
Deposits may be waived under certain conditions, such as:
- Victims of domestic violence
- Individuals over 65 who have not missed payments on their electric service account
- A letter of credit from a current electric service provider stating no more than one late payment in the previous 12 months
